18-Inch 2000W Bass-mid (AC470Y-B5s-8)

The AC470Y-B5s is a 2000W Australian made professional ferrite magnet low frequency 18″ bass loudspeaker.  The 2000W program rating achieved with through magnet cooling, thermal coupling to a massive die-cast aluminium frame and use of high temperature materials. This model has been designed for peak linear travel of 9.5mm and capable of 21mm before damage.

This model has a sensitivity of 97.5 dBSPL. The stiff curvilinear cone is a product of our OFP technology and is moulded in-house from a blend of premium air-dried wood pulp and Kevlar fibres resulting in smooth controlled mid response.

The AC470Y-B5s features die-cast aluminium frame, FE optimised CNC machined ferrite magnet-assembly. The bumped rear-plate permits large linear voice-coil excursion, and the pole profile optimised for BL linearity. An aluminium shorting ring lowers coil inductance minimises distortion, improves stability and enhances heat dissipation from the voice-coil. Wind noise is reduced with an undercut and flared vented pole-piece.

Spider and surround are produced from Aramid cloth.  Aramid was chosen for its exception strength long term stability and longevity.
